Boylexe is back!

Boylexe is a unique show which features the inspiring stories of our stars, male striptease (‘boylesque’) and a performance of Shania Twain’s ‘Man I Feel Like A Woman’ like you’ve never seen before… Boylexe features the very best of the UK’s underground cabaret scene including:

- Reuben Kaye (World Burlesque Games)

- Phil InGud (Chicago and Polly Rae’s Between The Sheets)

- Meth (Erotic Awards Performer of the Year 2013)

- Randolph Hott (The Double R Club)

- The Mighty Moustache, aka Sir Alexander Leopold (Wonderground)

And introducing Nick Stiletto and Bobby Deevah

The next run of shows are now confirmed as follows: 25th July / 1st August / 29th August – Doors at 7pm, show at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £15 (or £25 for show and club entry) and it is an 18+ show. Boylexe is aimed at thinking women and gay men who want a raucous, fun Friday night out but with a dash of brains, balls and sexiness.

The show has been on hiatus while the Shadow Lounge is refurbished, the reopening late spring is one of Soho’s most highly anticipated events. ‘We can’t wait to have Boylexe back in the new Shadow Lounge, it’s such a unique show that really fits with the venue. It’s been such a highlight over the past couple of years that we’re delighted to have it and the boys as part of our very exciting future.’ – Calum Ducat, The Shadow Lounge.

But of course, we’d be nothing without your support, so a huge thanks to everyone who’s come to see us waggling our business and telling our stories and an extra special shout-out to those of you who’ve come back again and again!

And because it’s the end of the year and we’re feeling a bit special, we’re asking some of our crew what have been their personal highlights from the past year

‘My favourite moments of Boylexe are every moment of applause that was directed at me personally. None of the crap I had to share with others.’- Mr Mistress.

‘My highlight has been getting my very own speaking part after a year of looking after these prima donnas and then getting to outshine them every single time!’Bobby Dee’vah

‘So it’s been an amazing year and the show has changed so much. I have loved meeting this crazy bunch of people! We’ve had so many great audiences! And I look forward to coming back next year and see where we can take it next year! New acts new craziness!’Phil In Gud
‘I think my personal highlight was seeing Mr Mistress tear down the house last week. Describing three birthday boys in the front row as “Starter, main course and dessert” was the funniest I’ve heard all year too! This show is such a pleasure to be a part of.’Randolph Hott
‘Kele Le Roc. Rollerskates. Xanadu. DREAM. COME. TRUE’ – director, Jayne Hardy

‘I’ve only just popped my Boylexe cherry, but of course having the gorgeous Jo king orchestrating all the boys was a highlight last Friday and my opening night the week before was great fun – I always love a new crowd and venue.’Nick Stiletto

We will be back in the New Year. And we’ve got lots of exciting plans lined up for 2014, so see you on the other side. Thank you again all for your support.

Who’s in Boylesque Show Boylexe?

On Friday, Boylesque show Boylexe returns to our old stompin’ ground, The Shadow Lounge for the first of a four-night run, featuring the following talent.

Boylexe is a mash-up of monologues, music, striptease about the lives of men in cabaret and ‘boylesque’, all wrapped up with some pink glitter and a turquoise jockstrap.
We wanted to introduce you to the gentlemen who’ll be taking it off, putting it on, taking it off, shaking it around from Friday 26th July…

Alp Haydar

Alp is the new Kele Le Roc (who previously hosted our show) also with a nice line in smart alec-ry. An interactive cabaret artist, he’s won two London Cabaret Audience Awards and TimeOut Audience Award for his work so you’re in safe hands… or are you?

Phil InGud
Boylexe_Phil_InGud_Small_Sq
Long-term collaborator Phil InGud is known to anyone who’s ever been to Boylexe and/or the Shadow Lounge. He’s currently taking it all off at Polly Rae’s Between The Sheets in The Hippodrome, so who better to whip it out for us?

Mr Mistress
Boylexe_Mr_Mistress_small
‘Queerlesque’ superstar Mr Mistress was Erotic Awards Performer of the Year 2013 and was recently just pipped for the top spot at Dusty O’s Tranny Academy. He has a special love for Shania Twain.

Davis Brooks
Boylexe_Davis_Brooks_small-sq
Davis is a mystery. Let’s leave it at that. You’ll just have to come and see the show to see what he’s all about… but he’ll be popping his Boylexe cherry on Friday.

Daniel Ash
Boylexe_Daniel_Thomas_Ash_small_sq
As will Daniel who’ll be ably assisting with suitable sass. We’ve only just discovered he’s a veteran of You Me Bum Bum Train. Of course he is.

And on 26th July, our special guest is Michael Standen, whom Alp calls a ‘human pretzel’. Which pretty much says it all.

Find out more about the show.

Doors – 8pm | Show – 8.30pm
